Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to GRIFFIN PLANTS. We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to support essential functions, remember certain preferences and, where enabled, understand how visitors use our online shop.

This Cookie Policy explains the types of cookies that may be used when you visit our website and the choices available to you.

We aim to keep our use of cookies clear and straightforward. Non-essential cookies are only used where the required permission has been given.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your browser and remember certain information between visits or as you move from one page to another.

Some cookies are necessary for a website to function. Others can remember your preferences, help website owners understand visitor activity or support relevant advertising.

Similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking pixels, may also be used for related purposes. In this policy, we refer to these technologies collectively as cookies where appropriate.

3. Why We Use Cookies

Cookies help us provide a more reliable and convenient shopping experience. Depending on the features enabled on our website, they may be used to:

• Keep the website working correctly and securely.
• Remember items added to your shopping basket.
• Support account access and checkout functions.
• Remember selected website preferences.
• Understand how visitors browse our flower collections.
• Measure website performance and improve navigation.
• Support marketing activities where applicable and permitted.

The cookies used depend on the website features and services currently enabled.

4. Essential Cookies

These cookies may be used to:

• Maintain a secure browsing session.
• Keep products in your shopping basket while you browse.
• Support checkout and order submission.
• Remember necessary security and session information.
• Help prevent misuse of website functions.

Essential cookies do not require consent where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested or to enable communication over an electronic communications network.

5. Functional Cookies

Depending on the features available, these cookies may remember:

• Selected display or browsing preferences.
• Previously selected website settings.
• Language or regional preferences, where available.
• Other optional settings that make the website easier to use.

Where functional cookies are not strictly necessary, they will only be used after you have provided the required consent.

6. Analytics Cookies

This information may include the pages visited, time spent on certain pages, general browsing patterns, device or browser information and how visitors arrive at our website.

We use this type of information to identify areas where our website could be easier to navigate, improve product presentation and understand overall website performance.

Analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary will only be placed after you have given the required permission.

7. Marketing Cookies

These technologies may be used to understand whether visitors have interacted with particular promotional content or visited certain pages after viewing an advertisement.

Marketing cookies may be provided by third-party advertising services. They are not essential for browsing or purchasing flowers from our website.

We will only use non-essential marketing cookies where you have provided the required consent.

8. Third-Party Cookies

Some website features may rely on services provided by other companies. Depending on the services enabled, these providers may place or access cookies through our website.

These services may include:

• Website analytics and performance tools.
• Payment-related services used during checkout.
• Website security and fraud prevention services.
• Embedded content or other optional website features.
• Marketing and advertising tools, where enabled.

Third-party providers may process information according to their own privacy and cookie policies. We encourage you to review their information where relevant.

We do not control cookies placed directly by third-party websites or services outside our website.

9. How Long Cookies Stay on Your Device

Cookies can remain on your device for different periods depending on their purpose and settings. They generally fall into two categories.

Session Cookies

Session cookies are temporary. They normally expire when you close your browser and are commonly used to support browsing sessions and shopping basket functions.

Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser. They stay until their expiry date or until you delete them through your browser settings.

The exact duration depends on the individual cookie and the service that sets it. Where required, we aim to use retention periods that are appropriate to the purpose of each cookie.

10. Managing Your Cookie Settings

You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie settings available on our website, where provided.

You may be able to accept or reject different categories of non-essential cookies and change your choices at a later time.

Using Your Browser Settings

Most internet browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies through their privacy or security settings.

You can usually find cookie controls in the settings or preferences section of your browser. The available options vary between browsers and devices.

11. Your Cookie Choices

When you first visit our website, you may be presented with a cookie notice allowing you to make choices about non-essential cookies.

You can choose to accept or reject optional cookie categories where the relevant preference controls are available.

If you have previously given consent, you can withdraw or change that consent at any time through the website’s cookie settings, where available.

Changing your preferences will apply to future cookie use. It may not automatically remove cookies that have already been stored on your device, so you may also need to clear them through your browser.

Essential cookies remain necessary for the website functions you request and cannot be disabled through optional cookie preference settings.

12. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies used on our website, improvements to our online shop or changes in applicable requirements.

Any revised version will be published on this page. We recommend checking this page occasionally if you would like to stay informed about our approach to cookies.
